Oh shut up for Pete's sake!!

Matt, Michale Bradley - pretty good, eh? Best player on the field.

Oh and Terry's goal?? Could have lived without that and all it's Oprah-ish overtones. Tears in his eyes? You bet. What a girl!

Oh neither of you have said that, but the need to boast on here about how bad the opposition is would seem to lend to the CONNOTATION, not the exact definition, that you two think England are so vastly superior.

And England are vastly superior to the USA. But superiority is relative. And England aren't very good, but they're a whole load better than the USA.

In my opinion, the English national team is filled with star players who have egos so large they cannot play as a unit. At least the US has heart and some fight in them, and a decent spirit. The English find someone to blame for their national team's woes (McLaren, Erikson), whilst the US actually works as a team to solve issues, not scapegoat.

I do blame McClaren, but not Eriksson. I mostly blame the ridiculous amounts of money they're paid.

Is that a pun?

You will live to see a US team that easily beats England. Trust me. Though I don't think it will happen today, alas.

Ok first thing, rads, shut up.

I'm not defending the way the US has played today. They've looked absolutely awful and I'm free to admit that my country right now has about as much imagination as my dog does on the pitch. I fully blame the hiring of Bradley for this mess. He's been a terrible manager of the team. He wasn't very good at Princeton, but got a few lucky players to come to New Jersey. Bradley assumes that because the US has some of the best size and stamina in the world that they should just score off of set pieces. He doesn't instill any sort of camaraderie in the side and he won't over the next few seasons.

Now, in defense of the team tonight, Donovan has been on fire this season and he is out with a groin injury. I think you would see a lot more imagination with him in there than who we have out there right now.

England, when they play as a team, are one of the best international sides in the world. There isn't a doubt about this. Capello is a good manager and will help get you folks into the World Cup and out of the group stage. At that point, it comes down to the players.

Fact is we should lose this game, and we are. I would like to see a little more creativity and better passing/clearances. I'm not expecting a win, nor should any US fan. We're playing you folks, Spain and Argentina in a 3 week span. That will be a great test, and I'm looking more at the side itself than the final score.

Already seen that. 2-0 USA, under Graham Taylor iirc.

What does "poney" mean?

It's either a small, young horse or...some English slang I don't know.

USA have a LONG way to go to get close to England. At the moment they are a team that whilst not awful, are just very very plain. A nothing team really. England have their faults, but now we have a decent manager we should be able to have a real go in South Africa in 2010.
