If this does happen, Real is going to have to give up somewhere in the range of 80-100 million for him. No matter how good one palyer is, no one is worth that much money. Simple as that.

The bigger issue regarding the deal is that if this happens, Man U immediately has enough money to spend to buy 3-4 world class players and sure up their strikers and midfield. That thought scares me.

That said, I still want to see the man get shipped out because he was 1/2 of Man U's offense last year and to make up for it with chemistry will take a decent amount of the season.

Meh disagree. There are several players that have the potential to be better than Ronaldo if given the opportunity in the right team, if he leaves United will bring one of those in. Ronaldo is very good, but he has his flaws and to be honest I don't care if he stays or goes.

Someone who can score more than 42 goals per season and God only knows how many assists from a non-striking position? Good luck finding him.

Looks like Ronaldo will be going anyway. He's now said he wants to go, which surely fucks his career at OT.

6 assists for the record [3 of which came in one game] So a total of 48 goals he was involved in directly... Cesc was involved in 35 for the record and thats in a central midfield.

Oh and he is [imo] a striker. Now firstly I want to say he is a world class talent, very good... BUT he was playing in a very creative United team where he gets chance after chance... He isn't as much of a team-player as he should be... Example - in the Euros he had 20 shots and scored just one. Now that's fine and all... but given the positions he gets in and the amount of times he gets the ball he is too selfish for me. He still hasn't shown he performs well enough against top teams/big games to justify best player in the world or even irreplacable.

United have plenty of grafters in their team and plenty of creators, if Ronaldo goes they just need someone with Ronaldo's movement, pace and eye for goal to replace him... I can tell you there are 3/4 young players out there who can reach that same level given time to fit in, and until then United just let their other class players step up and fill the gap... Nani, Rooney, Tevez are all more than capable. In fact, they might even create more than Ronaldo and offer more to the team to compensate for not scoring quite as many.

wow....CRISTIANO RONALDO openly defied Sir Alex Ferguson as Real Madrid prepared to make their first official bid for the Old Trafford star.

We can reveal Ronaldo’s agent flew into Manchester yesterday and will tell United that Madrid are willing to offer £45million plus £20m-rated Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder in return for the Portuguese ace.

In what was an astonishingly confrontational outburst, Ronaldo made it clear he does not care what his United boss thinks of it all.

CRISTIANO RONALDO decided to quit Manchester United and join Real Madrid

BEFORE last month’s Champions League Final.

The Portugal superstar has finally uttered the words that boss Alex Ferguson feared ever since United beat Chelsea on penalties in Moscow, admitting he wants to leave Old Trafford.

Intriguingly, Ronaldo also revealed he could have a face-to-face showdown with Fergie this week when he goes back to Manchester to have an operation on an injured foot.

hes defo gone

Oh come on, Tom. Enough. He's blatantly the best player in the World. Over 40 goals from midfield (no, not striking). I didn't believe that was possible until I saw it. Somewhere here I said a non-striker would never win the golden boot. He's a remarkable talent and will continue to improve. Even with your rather strange idea of equating assists and goals, he's still got 13 more than Cesc, a pretty significant amount. He's been fantastic at Euro 2008 too. Some remarkable play. You're biased, of course you are, but just once open your eyes and admit that Ronaldo is a very, very special player. Nani, Tevez, Rooney don't come anywhere close. In fact, no player in the world does right now. That's why Real are happy to shell out £70m+ for him.

i have to agree with Tom. In all honestly Ronaldo doesnt show up in the big matches. He's WAY OVER hyped. I say he is more of a wing player. He cannot play defense so he cant be a midfielder. You people call this skill?
thats all he does. useless bullshit. people want to compare this cat with henry?!? wow they are crazy..

thats just 1 part...there are 4 more... ronaldo way over hyped nuff said
