No, he didn't mishandle the Almunia thing. Wenger said as much himself.

Yes he shouldn't have played if he was injured, but he was determined not to lose his spot to Almunia... Not the first time an Arsenal keeper has been punished for this [Seaman Ronaldinho] but his intentions were in the right place.

Well it is one shared by Wenger then :) People just get carried away by what the press say, Jens was nothing but a pro... he put Almunia under pressure but so what? He's a big boy and probably made him a better stopper.

And private. If he thought Jens was behaving as poorly as you do then he would have been either dropped all together or sold. Jens did almost nothing wrong with Al, no way I'm going to hold that against him.

Couple of things...

1. Keane at WHL was never a penalty in the first place. Poor refereeing... And to be honest I don't care, we still won the league at WHL. Which was made possible in the first place by his fantastic league performances that season, in part.

2. He did very little wrong regarding the whole Almunia thing.

3. At the start of the season he made two mistakes... one was awful, the other was down to an injury he was carrying [and subsequently ruled him out for 2 months or so afterwards] I won't hold it against him .

He was a fantastic goalkeeper, one of the best during his peak and had some great moments both as a goalkeeper and as a character, for us.

Good luck to him at Stuttgart and in the Euros.

1. why get wound up AGAIN by a pikey cunt (make him a wanker for that)

2. you get dropped act like a pro not a spoilt cunt

3. two howlers from aa arrogant german, he deserved to dropped.

Oh, sorry. I didn't know you were personal friends with AW. My apologies.

I'm gonna miss the mad antics, he's left as a legend, the saves, the barmy chasing of players just to scream in their ears, pushing drogba and giving him an earful is one of my favourite moments, one of the best keepers we've had,and it's no exaggeration, just coz he was MAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :s_crazy

Arsene has been manager for 12 years or so. When he is unhappy with a player he would say so or express it in some way. He said nothing but nice things about Jens, even after he left.

Wenger is one of the most fascinating characters on the planet. He never outright said that he was unhappy with Jens at any level but Jens did have those mysterious injuries that kept him out for a long time and by then Almunia had secured his spot. AW was very clear that to return Jens to the spot was to deny the meritocracy upon which these decisions are based. Same with Gilberto and Flamini.

So for me Wenger is very calm and serene but very hard nosed underneath and principled. Complicated. What I'd give to be a fly on the wall during a conversation between the boss and our captain.

Back to Jens. Crazy as can be.

Yeah, just like he slagged of Cashley when he left. Anyway, you obviously have a very close relationship with AW so who am I to argue with that.
