So it looks like United will be without Ferdinand and Ronaldo for their opening few games. And they are hard games too - Newcastle and Pompey. Great, ban the fucker and hopefully Evra and a few others too!

I don't mind swearing at fans either, but fact is he's in the spotlight and should have known better. The refs he just disrespected and there is no excuse for kicking a steward. The Sun go overboard but he is right to be fine and banned.

Price of being a grown-up radford! :s_whiteflag

You do have to when you are in the public eye and have the press watching your every move though.

banned.....no christ what is with this ban ban ban people. good greif ok kicking a steward not good but to miss football games...oh come on. and the swareing at refs, they can sware back and its up to them t assert their authority, instead of hiding behind a whistle and a yellow card. and still people give this spotlight to much credence. i want my players to be men, not lillywhitenon-personality twats as the media would want.

Yeah I want personality too, but not by kicking female stewards. What is it with ban ban ban? Well actions have consequences, you slap someone on the pitch you get a 3 match ban [Hleb, Aliadiere] etc so its just following the rules.

Course I'm not, point is if they got 3/4 match bans for that then Rio also deserves a ban because what he did was worse. Yeah it's all wrong, but they are the rules and I find it hard to stick up for what Rio did. Ideally I'd change several of the rules on and off the pitch, but I'm not in charge. I have to say though, players should always respect the referee in theory.
