Wow ,... just read that he was offered a 2 year deal of about 45K a week ... seriously ... this is (if true) ridiculous ... we lost Pires because AW wouldnt offer him another year since he was above 30 ..

I think this money would have been better spent by giving a raise and keeping Flamini ...

I will seriously faint if he starts alongside Gallas on saturday ... above Toure ... what is happening here?? :s_shout

oh so it is ridiculous that he is earning 45k a week. btw how much is ade or even gallas earning right now? or what is the avg for a guy with PL experiences getting ?

i would rather we get silvestre 45k per week and try to get a new DMC than giving flamini a raise. perhape he prefer playing for UEFA cup. If he wants to stay just because of money, i would prefer him to leave.

lastly if silvestre starting would be able to make someone faint, what a impact he had brought to our club.. a huge one for some. :s_thumbsup i guess we might see some bodies laying around on saturdays.

The guy won't even be starting Saturday. He has a 'slight' injury.

He wouldn't have started if fully fit anyway. Keep same back four as West Brom match. Cannot understand anyone who says this is not a great signing. the price is fuckin excellent and the experience and ability is quality.

for fuck sake im getting seriously fucked off with wenger now.

so he either signs players that are still in nappies, or o.a.p's?! what the fuck? how about a few players in there peak that dont come with asbo's or pensions.. where is the happy medium?

why has he given him a 2 yr contract? i thought it was only 1 yr for players over 30?

all this does is make me think what a hypocrite.. he got rid of one of the best midfielders we ever had in pires, because of his poxy policy.

yet again we can look forward to another season of fuck all.
we will be lucky to finish in 4th with the squad we have got.

Calm down calm down :s_tongue

The over 30s rule only applied to current players I believe not players 'signed'. 31 is hardly OAP and the prem and CL experience he will bring will be so valuable. Who says Wenger is finished signing players yet? Seriously at 750k it was too good to refuse and a shrewd piece of business. Don't be so defeatest eh? We will win something this season, a cup at least.

Keep the faith my friend :s_smile

why would it have only applied to current players and not players signed? that makes no sense. therfore i dont believe this to be the case. clearly wenger has double standards.

31 in football may as well be 65 in this day and age. im not a defeatest my friend, just a REALIST. we have not won a fucking thing for years now and for myself and many others, the rose tinted glasses are cracking like fuck.

i bet you have been saying we wil wim something for the last 3 seasons aint ya.

whats your point?

i thought it was pretty fucking obvious to be honest but for the more simple ones on here i will put it simple..

we need to be signing players in their prime not kids and has been's, or players no one has ever heard of that have played 2 games in 2 yrs.

north bank boy,

but i do doubt him these days.
especially when he buys a 31 yr old and gives him a 2 yr contract even though he is breaking his contract rule for 30+ yr old's.. and a 31 yr old thats had a long term serious injury. ferguson must think wenger's gone mad.
we need players in their prime that are maybe 1-2 yrs away from their peak, not players that are 10 yrs away or over the hill. its mad.

Surely every fan goes into every season thinking they can win something? I do anyway and there's nowt wrong with it. Every new season brings belief that your team can win something, thats what makes every season so fuckin special. I will remain optimistic, you remain in your cave.
