Heard a rumour about Veloso... agent said we went in late for him apparently. Doubt there is any truth to it he was playing earlier tonight... but we didn't know about Diarra until after 2am last year so we don't know.

I'm okay tbh. Would have been a lot happier with another player or two, but suppose you don't always get what you want, we'll have to deal with what we have... and lets be honest, we have a very good team.

We are taking a gamble, and Arsene is a very brave man, but he isn't stupid and if he thought this side wasn't good enough then he wouldn't have not brought anyone else in.

I think Nasri is two steps up from Hleb, so he's replaced no problem...

Flamini... well Diaby will step into his shoes... its been said a hundred times before, but who was Flamini a year ago? An honest grafter with talent, but no one would have backed him to do as well as he did really... Diaby has stacks of potential, and has done well whenever he's played in the middle. The problem is depth really... last season we took a chance on the wings and got caught out - we've sorted that out now [Vela and Wilshere] this season we are taking a chance in the middle, have to hope we don't get caught out... United got away with it last season [striking options]

nasri is class, like the look of him tbf. the flamster was always fab, you just never noticed - not like moi :P think we got trouble in defence tbh - and we're a man down in the middle too. and as for ade  bout time nicky got a proper run i fink - all AW did is up ade's wages cos he threw a hissy. twat

Ade deserved a raise imo. You look at what other strikers are on - Drogba, Owen, Rooney, Ronaldo, Torres are all earning 90k plus. Ade was on 30k a week, in football world for the importance he has to the team, he deserved a raise. Though he acted stupid getting it.

I'm not too happy with the defence atm, but I think we have the options in the squad to sort it, Djourou has looked good. Arsene has a dilemna though... if he drops Toure and brings in Djourou then he loses an important experienced player and gets another young un in the side. Its a tough call that he'll have to make soon, its just a question of chemistry between Bill and Kolo, they showed signs of improvement against the Toon but we'll have to see if they can sort it.

One to watch potentially is Bischoff. I don't want to pin too much on him, and rightly so, he is totally unknown... but obviously Arsene spots something in him [which can only be a good thing] and when he gets fit it will be interesting to see how good he is... though he lacks experience he isn't that young and could maybe feature as the season wears on and he gets more fit/used to our style of play. I won't be pinning my title hopes on him, but he is an interesting one.

this was correct. :( must be skint, there is no other reason for not signing anyone.

puts too much pressure on cesc, has to carry the midfield and stay fit the whole season. sorry to say but diaby and denilson are not up to it. diaby never fit for more than 3 games ina row and denilson has a long way to go.

3rd is the best we can hope for, need to take the fa cup more seriously this time.

that it the worst post i think you have ever posted. to even try and justify any player getting even £30,000 a week when the fans are treated like shit and with complete disregard is shocking. need i remind you what sacrifices fans go through in the support of their teams ans the teams and players believe that a clap at times at the end of a match IS enough. bollocks.

and please don't bore me with phrases such as "demand and supply" "the going rate". when a shit team like newcastle is prepared to give a "i prefer horses" muppet like owen completely obscene amounts of money for scant return because they are scared of the repercussions. it makes me sick to the pit of my stomach

im stunned to say the least that wenger has not bought in a central midfield player, one or two more injuries and we are completley bolloxed in the middle of the park....

its a very big gamble the boss is taking, and i hope for ours and his sake its one he does not regret

if no one is injured we are fine and we can beat any team in the world.. but just 1 or 2 injuries we will be bullshit.. i just can't understand why is le boss taking such a risk.. yes the team might be good enough but for sure not thick enough in terms of depth.

well well and all along the whole transfer season he seem to promise to get us a player.. and the player he get is silvestre. is that what we all wants..? sometimes i just can't understand.. we are already so thin in paper and yet the boss get silvestre and let 2 players go out on loan. toare and send. wtf is he thinking.. he can forsee his players not getting injured or is he taking unnesscery risk.

I think its hardly AW's fault that we couldnt sign anyone ... I am sure he must have been trying very hard to bring in a quality name ... Alonso/Inler were on the list but I dont think as much as Alonso wanted to leave Pool they would have sold him to us even for 20 Mill .and plus Gerrard being injured .. and Inler well he extended for Udinese ... so its hardly AW's fault that he only wanted to bring in "selected quality" players ... he can only bid for them and if the other party is not interested there's nothing much he can do about it ... and there's no point in bringing in some other average player who will only eat up wages and people will still be unhappy saying that we dont have quality ...

I think most "fans" who think AW should be sacked just got caught up in the media frenzy about other teams making these "bizzare" signings ... I mean that Belgian fella to Everton cost more than Nasri ... :s_crazy
