Anyone going Turkey? Could be an amazing experience. Hard group, but we should qualify if we play to our best. Kiev aren't the same side of 10 years ago, nor are Porto [who shouldn't be in the competition anyways]

1. i'm really up for the turkey trip

2. hopefully kiev won't be the same side that battered us at wembely (how did we get a draw heaven knows)

3. porto did nothing wrong in the champion league so therefore should be in it and the discretion was sometime ago and had no bearing on the title. and they WILL be tough.

if we qualify i'll drive down the Hollow way road naked in the Radmobile :s_howdy

ps i don't own a hard top

Maybe [Porto] its just the last team that got kicked out then re-instated for match fixing won it.

Porto have lost a lot of good players, we played them two seasons ago when we were a much worse team and won the home game okay and got a result out there, we should be able to deal with them. Fenerbache will be tough, we can't underestimate them especially away from home. Kiev should be the weak links, but are still a top side. Saying that, they will all be far more scared of us, we are the best team in this group and our home form should see us though.

There are also rumors that Ricardo Quaresma may be leaving Porto before the window closes...doesn't seem incredibly likely to happen, but it's at least been mentioned.

You underestimate us. They will, we have a very very good record in the group stages since the format changed.

lol i will give him a break (if you catch my drift) no seriously turkey and the ruskies away will be hell (i know we got an amazing result in kiev back in the day but we were already out by then). a win in any of the away games for me at the moment is a distant dream. i'll take two draws and a defeat at the moment.

Fenerbache I'd take a draw. We can definitely beat Porto and Kiev though away from home... whether we will or not is another matter. It could have been worse, but confident we'll qualify.

Well there are no guarantees in football obviously. That was a freak game, we can lose one [or even two] but as long as we win all our home games and win/draw at one away ground we'll be through.

agreed BUT major worries.

1. lack of mental strength

2. lack of presence anywhere on the pitch.

3. not being able to mix it and have it

spain played superb without some of the above but they played in neutral grounds in nice weather without a hostile crowd to deal with. we might not be so lucky

Don't buy the mental thing, experience might be an issue in Istanbul but it will be one hell of an experience. We can mix it just like we did at Everton away last season... might have to do that in Kiev and Fenerbache.

Really think Fenerbache will be great... should be an amazing atmosphere...

Fenerbache will be a good test, don't mind a draw over there n then bring them back to ours n give a right good account of ourselves, i do feel there is the potential for some banana skins amongst the group, but overall we should be alright...
