listen to what your actually saying. its rediculous.
you would rather arsenal not win anything than be taken over and have money invested in the squad?!
madness.

Speaking for me ... if its people like Usmanov/abramovic/ and this Arab fella or even the ones at Pool ... yes!!! I would prefer we not win anything than be in the hands of people like these ... and they dont come any better than that so ......

flawed logic.

there is no reason someone cant come in and invest whilst actually running the club well you know.

all these asshole are just treating football as their playtoys they splash those money they have just to show the fucking world how rich they are, using money to show their ego.. do they really know what is football they know nuts about it.

Anyway our club have a proper structure and we are not lack of funds why do we need investment when the board is doing pretty well.

Flawed logic ??? on the contrary nothing can be more straightforward ... no matter who the person is if that single person is incharge he will run it on his own whims ... and even if its run fairly well there will be atleast 50% who dont agree with that one person ... now if it is a group running things (like Arsenal) atleast there is some sort of consensus and holding-back ...

are you telling me you would be happy with F&O running Arsenal? Yes he would bring in lots of money which would buy Messi, Ronaldo (just as some examples) but I am more happy when I see the likes of Wilshere and Clichy and even Sagna coming through and playing the beautiful game...

Fact is, I don't think F&O have anything near the funds that Abu Dabi have, which I heard today is 550 BILLION pounds. That is 50 times the fortune of Abromovich. (I really wish my keyboard had a symbol for pounds.) I don't want a take over of Arsenal and I certainly don't want some nouveau riche bastard coming in and using the club as his plaything. I'll still love the Arsenal whatever happens, just as I would still love a family member who might be captured by a band of thugs.

of course its flawed. a really twisted way of looking at things. you would rather see arsenal regress than progress and thats perverse.

there are pottential investors out there that are more than capable of running the club well whilst making multi millions available for transfer.

I believe that not too long ago, AW said we are a selling team for the next 17 years (if I could find the time to get the article I would cite it).

Anyway, if that is the attitude, then I believe OUTLAWED's logic is sound.

If on the other hand Arsenal is not a selling team, and we grow and hold onto our players, then the amount of money thrown at other teams will be a less of a problem for Arsenal. Reasoning for this is:
A) AW can build teams and teaming. For Arsenal, the whole is without a doubt greater than the sum of its parts.

B) Money thrown at teams, buys the parts that (in my opinion) don't team very well.

C) There is a also a law of diminishing returns here that works in a couple of ways:
1) You can only put 11 players on the pitch, and if many teams are able to stuff those teams with top-class players, then those teams now become the average; and
2) I believe that a bought team is only marginally favored over a team that is built from (more or less) the ground up (like AW's format).

Again, the key is to hold onto the players that create the team, and not sell them (because you have to pay for a stadium).
