I thought there was something amiss in AW's behavior the other night he was more irritable and looked right pissed off ... now I know that his father had just died and with our players just making a mess of the game he was not his usual self ... I think :s_dunno

Considering a major, major death in his family...I'd have thought not, tbh. Pat Rice could've handled things fine for the night.

That being said, though, I don't think that AW's presence harmed anything on the pitch.

I disagree. I think it's his choice as to whether he feels he can do the job still or not. A lot depends on whether it was an expected death or not (good chance it was expected).

This is Wenger, after all. I can;t se ehimmissing a game for nearly anything. He is the classic workaholic. Work before family. I get it, sad to say.

Sometimes work can be therapeutic.
