Alright folks, this is the first match of the CL group stages, and we should be riding pretty high after an extremely solid win in the North at Ewood Park.

We MIGHT be missing Diaby, Silvestre, Eboue, and Nasri, and we WILL be missing Rosicky and Eduardo.

So, discuss! :D

Worst case scenario

Almunia
Sagna Gallas Toure Djourou
Cesc Denilson Song Walcott
van Persie Adebayor

Though hopefully Clichy will be okay, and one of Nasri/Eboue will be fit. Or he might go with Cesc/Denilson in the middle and Walcott/Vela on the wings, though that seems pretty attacking for an away game. We'll see... tough game a draw wouldn't be a bad result but it would be nice to kick off with a win.

Vela would be an interesting option on the wing...we know Wenger has some faith in him, so he may well get a run.

I really hope Cesc doesn't end up having to be on the wing, though.

if clichy is not playing gallas would proberly end up in the left and djourou beside toure.. since most of our winger are injured will wenger try something new ? hmmmm.. i would love to see something like this...

Almunia

Sagna Toure Djourou Gallas

Denilson Cesc Song

van Persie Walcott

Adebayor

4-5-1 or the so call dutch 4-3-3

Wenger won't change from his systems. It will be either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 which would mean dropping one of RvP/Ade which I can't see happening. It is possible he'd go with Vela and Theo on the wings, with Denilson/Song in midfield and Cesc pushed up, but I can't see him doing that for a game this important... too much inexperience for such an atmosphere.

And we're coming in with a great win away...should do some good for our confidence level, etc.

The injuries are the biggest worry for me as we could end up really thin in midfield...

I was wondering if Silvestre would come in for this one - in Clichy's spot.

I think it could end up being Gallas at Clichy's spot with Silvestre in the middle...

So Silvestre and Nasri are out and Clichy and Eboue are fit .. looks like Walcott is likely to play again .. I hardly think Vela will start from the beginning in such an important match ...

He should get some time in Walcott's spot later in the match, though.

Too good to be messed with! Theo should play, and leave Cesc where he is. I don't think there will be that much shuffling around.

it's HT and it looks like wenger had played the 4-5-1 with rvp and walcott on the wings... we had a decent first half but my question is how many clear or half chances must we have before we score one..
